Supporting SMEs: Highlights from the First Sustain X Online Event

On May 13, as part of its ongoing efforts to support innovation-driven SMEs in less developed regions, the Sustain X project held its first online event aimed directly at small and medium-sized enterprises.

Titled “Measuring Innovation Excellence: An Introduction to the IMP³ROVE Assessment Tools”, the session was delivered by Hanna Kim, Senior Consultant at IMP³ROVE – A Kearney Company. The event introduced SMEs from various sectors to practical tools for evaluating and strengthening their innovation and sustainability capacities.

As a technical partner within the Sustain X consortium, IMP³ROVE contributes its expertise in innovation management. In this session, Hanna Kim presented three key tools designed to help SMEs understand their innovation maturity and define actionable steps for improvement.

The tools introduced included:

  • Innovation Management Assessment (IMA):
A framework that evaluates five dimensions of innovation management and provides SMEs with a benchmarking report comparing their results to similar companies.
  • Digital Innovation Quotient (DIQ):
A tool for assessing digital innovation maturity across strategic, operational, and organisational areas.
  • Corporate Sustainability Navigator (CSN):
An instrument to assess and improve a company’s sustainability performance across environmental, social, and managerial dimensions.

These tools, based on international standards like CEN/TS 16555 and available in multiple languages, are part of the practical toolbox Sustain X is offering to help SMEs become more resilient, competitive, and sustainable.

This webinar marks an initial step in the journey to build stronger innovation ecosystems through expert guidance and shared resources.
