Are you looking for European funding opportunities, new project partnerships, or ways to strengthen your organisation’s readiness for EU-funded initiatives? Join the EU Grants Workshop “Funding Readiness & Collaboration Pathways for 2027”, taking place on 3 December 2026 at JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa, Greece, as part of the SustainX Final Touchdown Event.
Organised within the framework of the SustainX project, the workshop will bring together SMEs, research and innovation organisations, clusters, business support organisations, and other innovation stakeholders interested in exploring future European funding opportunities and establishing meaningful collaborations.
With the 2027 funding landscape approaching, organisations are increasingly looking for ways to position themselves strategically, identify suitable funding instruments, and connect with potential European partners. The workshop aims to support these efforts by providing a practical environment for knowledge exchange, early-stage project discussions, and networking.
From Funding Opportunities to Collaborative Project Ideas
The two-hour interactive session will go beyond a general introduction to EU funding programmes, encouraging participants to explore how their expertise, innovation priorities, and development needs can translate into future European project opportunities.
The workshop will focus on four key areas:
- EU Funding Opportunities for 2027: Exploring relevant European funding programmes and opportunities that may support innovation, research, business development, and interregional collaboration.
- Funding Readiness: Understanding the essential elements organisations should consider when preparing to participate in EU-funded projects, from identifying suitable calls to defining project objectives and partnership needs.
- Project Ideas and Collaboration Pathways: Encouraging participants to exchange early-stage ideas, identify complementary expertise, and explore potential opportunities for joint European proposals.
- Networking and Partner Identification: Creating opportunities for SMEs, research organisations, and innovation ecosystem actors to connect and establish relationships that could lead to future collaborations.
Supporting Targeted Networking and Matchmaking
An important element of the workshop is its emphasis on meaningful connections between participants.
To facilitate more focused discussions, registered participants will be invited to complete a short Collaboration & Funding Profile before the event.
Through this process, participants can share information about their organisation’s expertise, areas of interest, previous experience with European projects, and potential collaboration needs.
The collected information will help identify common interests and complementary capabilities, supporting more targeted networking and discussions during the workshop.
This approach aims to move beyond traditional networking by encouraging participants to identify concrete possibilities for future cooperation.
Building on the SustainX Mission
The EU Grants Workshop reflects the broader objectives of SustainX, a European initiative dedicated to strengthening the innovation capacities of SMEs and promoting interregional collaboration across European innovation ecosystems.
Throughout its implementation, SustainX has supported SMEs through capacity-building activities, knowledge exchange, innovation assessments, advisory services, and opportunities for cross-border cooperation.
By bringing together businesses, research institutions, and innovation support organisations, the workshop contributes to the project’s ambition to develop sustainable partnerships and strengthen the ability of European organisations to access innovation funding and investment opportunities.
The workshop is part of the SustainX Final Touchdown Event, taking place on 2β3 December 2026 in Larissa. The wider event will feature business networking activities, company presentations and demonstrations, an SME masterclass, and policy discussions focusing on innovation investment and European collaboration.
